Our Programs

Mentorships

Mentors are matched with newly arrived individuals and families to help guide them through their new lives. They help find solutions to their mentee’s needs, provide outings and connect mentees to other community resources. Due to COVID, already established mentorships are carried out virtually.

Adventures

Adventures such as camping, hiking, biking, rock climbing, museums, concerts, etc. are often limited for low-income and immigrant individuals. AHH seeks to change that with “Adventures With Allies” which pairs newcomers with outdoor and cultural enthusiasts for monthly adventures.

Experiences

Shared Experiences focus on helping refugees and immigrants get out, explore, and connect. Outings include professional sporting events, museums, family dinners, sightseeing, career exploration days, cooking classes, etc. Due to COVID, we’ve limited the size of shared experiences.

Resources

The AHH Resource Library is designed to help mentors and immigrants access resources that support activities of daily living in Northern California. Like all libraries, it is continually expanded and updated to reflect new information. We welcome all additional resource suggestions!

Retreats

AHH has hosted two incredible Welcome Weekends since 2016. We are grateful for all those who attended, both volunteers and participants, and for all those donated. Each retreat provided 100+ refugees and immigrants with a weekend full of fun, adventure, healing, and growth.

Partnerships

AHH provides its programs and services to community partners throughout its service areas. We believe in bridging the gap between all non-profit organizations, government lead initiatives, grassroots efforts, and community members in order to bring about relief.
